Final preparations are being completed for Art in the Park, the 22nd annual art and craft show held in Marion each fall. About 250 exhibitors are expected.

On Sept. 6, a fire of unknown origin destroyed the Victor Buckner home at 27 Echo Lane, Marion County Lake. The house was a total loss. Origin of the fire has not been determined.

Steve Wear has taken over the reins of management at Marion Equipment, Inc. He began his duties June 1, replacing Phil Lauer.

Jack Swain and city employee Tom McLinden are pictured as they work using stones to create a new base for the bell removed from the historical museum’s bell tower. The two-tiered base is being constructed of stones from an old bridge designed and built by Fred Lewis in the late 1800s.
