Marion County Commissioners voted on Monday to dispose of dozens of multi-ton blocks salvaged from a bridge project. One group of blocks will be used by the city for landscaping at Brooker Memorial Plaza in Central Park and at the former Santa Fe Depot that is being renovated into the city library. Another group will be used for landscaping at the Marion Country Club.

Jaime Leigh and Cactus Jack will return to Marion July 7 for another summer concert in Central Park.

A group of Marion residents asked the city commission Monday if constructing a skateboard ramp in East Park would be favorable. Margo Yates, executive secretary of the Marion Chamber of Commerce, organized the meeting.

Lanell Hett hit a hole in one Monday at Marion Country Club. Witnesses were her children, Nickolas, Travis, and Lindsey Hett. It was her second hole in one.

The Marion County Emergency Food Bank was relocated June 19 from offices of Prairie View Mental Health Clinic on St. Luke Hospital grounds to Valley United Methodist Church. Boy Scouts and their leaders provided labor for the move.

Deanna Klenda recently attended the 32nd annual meeting of the National League of Families of American Prisoners and Missing in SE Asia Wednesday through Sunday In Washington, D.C.
