More than 200 booths will be included in the 23rd annual Art in the Park and Craft Show Sept. 15 in Central Park. Artists from 12 states are participating.

Leslie Kitchenmaster, owner of Peak Management Corp., Lost Springs, has stepped in to save the Halstead Hospital and Hertzler Clinic from closing. Once a patient at the hospital, Kitchenmaster is offering to provide operating capital and consulting services so the well-known establishment can continue serving the region.

Kansas Attorney General Carla Stovall will speak at the Leadership Marion County graduation banquet on Monday. The class of 2001 includes Amy Helmer and Brenda Conyers, Marion; Sandra Svoboda, Ramona; Glenda Wodke and Becky Nuss, Hillsboro; David Brazil, Durham: Anita Goertzen, Goessel; and Myrna Hamm, Tampa.

Matthew Classen, senior vice president of Marion National Bank, recently was honored by the Kansas Bankers Association for 50 years service to the banking industry.
