Two companies associated with a former landfill south and west of Marion are seeking more than $35 million in damages from Marion County and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

Among the more than 5,300 University of Kansas students who received scholarships from private gifts this fall were the following from Marion: Nichole Bina, Eliza Bennett, Ethan Good, Mandy Hanson, Ashley Loomis, Bailey Skiles, and Michelle Wessel.
The new x-ray suite proposed for St. Luke Hospital will be re-bid. Marion County Hospital District No. 1 board members decided Dec. 15. Board members had tabled action when the low bid was almost double the architect’s estimate.
