Spring has sprung. Flowering crab apple, redbud, and other blossoming trees dot landscapes around Marion, producing a touch of color among awakening deciduous trees.

Work has started on restoring the historic spring in Central Park, making way for ultimate construction of Brooker Plaza.

Marie Konarik, a senior at Marion High School and the daughter of Bob and Karen Konarik, was voted Queen of the Junior-Senior Prom, 2000, held Saturday evening.

Marion Family Physicians, LLC, has completed plans to provide services in Peabody. Don Hodson, M.D., and Kim Hall, M.D., will operate the facility as Peabody Clinic. Ruth Sherman, D.O., plans to leave Peabody this month. Accredited Registered Nurse Practitioner Ruth Reed will serve as health care provider under the medical direction and supervision of Hodson and Hall.

Marion Elementary School teachers Bill Darrow and Jennifer Roth were named “Teachers of the Year” at the school. Deb Shipman was selected as Staff Member of the Year.

Marion Kiwanis Club members will gather trash at 4:30 p.m. Monday as part of their Adopt-A-Highway commitment.
