Marion’s municipal swimming pool still leaks. Even after so-called “experts” studied the situation and city crews replaced the suspected pressure lines, which feed the pool, it continues to leak about a thousand gallons an hour.
Marion National Bank bed racers Michon Christensen, Paige Schneider, Elora Robinson, Kelsey Craig, and Diane Sams, on Thursday, presented a $50 check to Marion Girl Scouts Kimber Hardey, Lauren Helmer, Lena O’Connor, and Erin Carr. The check represented the team’s winnings as “most outrageous” in the Chingawassa Days bed race, and they chose to donate the money to the scouts.
Over the course of almost a year, Mark and Sara Meisinger, along with their 3½-year-old son, Caleb, have transformed a six-acre section of a cornfield west of Marion into a challenging family puzzle, a maze of maize.
Harvest in Marion County is just beginning with combines operating in southern parts of the county. Weekend rains kept most combines out of the field but, weather permitting, many more will be running by the end of the week.
Many relatives and friends helped David and Shirley Bowers celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday morning at the Youngtown church and later in the afternoon at Eastmoor United Methodist Church.
