Carlsons’ IGA, Marion, will have a NASCAR race vehicle on display in the parking lot from 10 am. until 2 p.m. Sunday. The engine will be started twice. A simulator and replica car will be available for rides.

Wayne and Goldie Steely gave guided tours Sunday through the arboretum they maintain in the yard of their home in Burdick. This was the Steeleys’ seventh annual open house.

Gary and Paula Loveless of Marion announce the engagement of their daughter Jennifer Lee, to Mark Andrew Lamb, son of Larry and Terri Lamb of Lacona, Iowa. The couple will be married Aug. 7 at Valley United Methodist Church.

Among the 20 players selected for the Central Kansas Summer Basketball League all-star team were senior Jessica Moore, daughter of Tobe and Red Moore, and junior Melissa Moffitt, daughter of Frank and Jan Moffitt. The all-star game was held July 19 at Hesston.

Mayor Max Hayen is pictured presenting a plaque and check to Don Druse as the city’s “employee of the quarter.”
