The Donahue Corporation, Durham, is celebrating 40 years in business. An open house is planned Saturday at the plant northeast of Durham on 290th Street. Owner Jim Donahue is proud of the contributions his company has made to the economy of Marion County.

Many friends and relatives of Jackie Hett spent the week of the Fourth of July with her. The week was busy with camping, boating, horseback riding, four-wheeling, fishing, eating, and just plain visiting.

Gene Winkler will move his G&J Video business to a new room in the shop area of his building at 426 E. Main. The room will contain Winkler’s tape duplicating and editing equipment as well as a studio for KTVN, Channel 22.

The descendants of Sherman and Sarah Pierce gathered June 29 and 30 for their biennial family reunion. Nancy Serpico of Edisto Beach, S.C., was in charge of the reunion. She is a houseguest of Shirley Burkholder.

The Cottonwood Valley League all-star baseball team won the Cal Ripkin district tournament in Hillsboro Saturday and advanced to the state tournament to begin Friday at Manhattan.
