An era of Marion enterprise ended Monday when ownership of Brose Liquor Store passed into the hands of Don and Jeannie Vinduska of Lincolnville. It is now D & J Liquor. Brose started the business in 1949 and at the time of his retirement was one of the longest individual retail business operators in Marion.

Jim Koslowsky, son of Harry and Theodora Koslowsky of Marion, is business manager at the Nairobi International School of Theology, a division of Campus Crusade for Christ.

Vegetables brought this week to the Marion County Record Produce Derby include a five- pound zucchini from Karen Konarik and six large tomatoes grown by Pat Foth from seed planted by her husband, the late Howard Foth.

Joan Bowers received a certificate of recognition at the weekly meeting of the city commission. Bowers resigned her position after 19 years as city clerk, saying she enjoyed her work and the “dedicated employees and wonderful people of Marion.”
