First District Congressman Jerry Moran visited Marion High School Tuesday afternoon and spent time with students in Rex Ostmeyer’s government class answering questions about several topics of interest to the students.

Tracy Hett of Trace of Copper has produced a unique three-dimensional hanging of Marion City Library. It celebrates the past, present, and future of the former Santa Fe Depot, now the city library.

Norman and Vivian Mueller have returned after attending the annual reunion of the U.S. Marines 3rd Armored Amphibian Tank Group in Mobile, Ala.

The 90th birthday of Aline Bernhardt will be celebrated at an open house Nov. 10 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. The event will be hosted by her daughter, Caroline Gilbert and family.

Marion Middle School students named to the Kansas Music Educators honor choir include Jandee Sharp, Allison Meador, Tedra Eis, Elisa Gayle, Matt Kirkpatrick, Clay Riggs, Luke Bowers, and Isaac Guetersloh. Those named to the KMEA honor band are Kari Tajchman, Riley Ross, Danielle Cope, Erin Richmond, Jordan Timm, and Kirk Hanson.
