It’s official. Both Marion High School and Marion Middle School will be members of Mid-Central Activity Association League beginning in the 2004-2005 school year. Marion-Florence USD 408 Board of Education officially accepted the invitation for MHS to join the high school league in February. Monday night they accepted the invitation for MMS to join the middle school league.

Brad and Jeannie Wildin, owners of the County Seat, have launched a professional carpet cleaning service.

Vickie Kraus is pictured on the front page as she views quilts on display in Marion City Library. The quilts include some made by Joan Winter, Dorothy Gilbert, Betty Stenzel, Barbara Graham, Pat Foth, Marge Endres, Kathy Sprowls, and Gemma Davies. Those who contributed quilts made by others were Marge Summervill, Norma Hannaford, Janice Waner, Betty Sanders, and Janet Marler.

A cast of 16 will take the stage Friday and Saturday for the Marion High School presentation of “Cheaper by the Dozen.” Cast members are Joe Svitak, Ive Eddy, Megan Whitaker, Tim Schuler, Hannah Eis, Sarah Davidson, Justin Brookens, Michael Brookens, Tory Hett, Nikki Moody, Derek Vetter, Renae Lundgren, Eric Steiner, Megan Helmstead, Patrick Becker, and Trevor Jones.
