Amelia Park Bridge, northeast of Antelope on 257th Street, is almost 90 years old and is being considered by the Kansas Historic Site committee for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places. Built by Topeka Bridge and Iron Company, it remains in good condition.

Mark Lawson, a meteorologist for KWCH Channel 12 in Wichita, visited the Marion Elementary School third grade class Friday afternoon to discuss the fundamentals of weather.

Several teen-agers from northern Marion County participated in a house-building mission to Mexico during spring break. Justin Garrard, Jenna Beneke, Andrea Carlson, and Tim Baker, as well as Justin’s father and brother, John and Grant, joined a group of people who traveled to Juarez and constructed two houses.

Brandon Allen Lange is the March “Beary Special Baby” born at St. Luke Hospital.

Marion High School students Lena O’Connor, Rachel Davidson, and Adrienne Chamberland had a learning experience March 26 when they served as pages for Rep. Don Dahl in the Kansas House of Representatives.

A card shower is requested for LeRoy and Lou Roberts who will observe their golden wedding anniversary April 12.
