The tourism report given at this week’s city commission meeting includes C&M Tours of Cheney bringing 50 people to town Thursday, Chingawassa Days and MAYB tournament, coming June 6-8, Butler County Community College retreat involving 75 people from three Butler County towns, July 8, and a Marion bus tour by 45 people from Topeka on July 24.

Ozark Mountain Daredevils will perform as the featured act June 7 at Chingawassa Days. The popular Wichita band, Synergy, will open for the Daredevils.

The annual induction ceremony for new members of the Marion High School chapter of the National Honor Society was held March 25. Inductees were Karson Craig, Sarah Davidson, Brandi Peterie-Shipman, Chelsea Arnhold, Kendra Holub, Whitney Wear, Sarah Williams, and Katie Zogelman.

The wedding of Juliana Flowers and Duane Neuwirth on April 26 is announced in this issue, as is the upcoming marriage of Karen Anderson and Gary Chaput scheduled for Oct. 25.

Butler County of Marion art show will be held Monday through Thursday. It includes creations from Jim Versch’s Marion High School art students and Pat Wick’s adult art students at Butler County.
