The seventh annual Chingawassa Days is scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The headliner group, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, will be featured at 9 p.m. Saturday in Central Park.
Marion Auto Mart is now located at 1111 E. Main. The firm has moved its offices from 1501 Lori Lane, just off U.S. 56, and was open for business May 27 at its new location.
The Moonshine Lullaby Trio, Michael Brookens, Eric Smith, and Tyson Heidebrecht, won the Jester Award for the Outstanding Ensemble Performance for 2003 awarded Sunday night by Music Theatre of Wichita at Century II. The three performed in November in the Marion High School performance of “Annie Get Your Gun.”
“Beary Special Babies” born at St. Luke Hospital during the month of May include Preston Lynette Schneider, Alex Robert Hammer, and Jaden Nicole Slifer.
The Rev. Carl Helm was installed Sunday as minister of the Marion Christian Church.
Nicki Bina, daughter of Raymond and Denice Bina of Marion, is spending a year working with inner city youth in New York City. Bina has a degree in elementary education from the University of Kansas and is employed by Good Shepherd Services, a social service agency.
