Marion Assisted Living is continuing to develop an assisted living residence on its site on Eisenhower Drive.

Marion County Fair was a busy time for 4-H Club members. Steven Kaiser of the Lincolnville Wide Awake 4-H Club is pictured as he clips the hair of one of his show pigs. Kaiser came home with one blue and two red ones in swine competition.

Births announced in this issue include Isabel Celeste, daughter of Paul and Catrina Loney of Lawrence, born Aug. 5; Bodie Owen Schmidt, son of Chad and Angela Schmidt of Ramona, born July 22; and Tyler Lee, son of Cacey Nickel and Karen Marler of Tampa, born Aug. 6.

Chase Bureman, 12, and Kirsten Bureman, 9, grandchildren of Matt and Mary Kay Classen of Marion, took top honors in the 2003 Junior Club golf tournament at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield, Mo.

Rosse and Janice Case have returned from Amherst, N.H., where they spent 12 days visiting their daughter and family, Joe and Teresa Nielsen, Haley, Hannah, and Abby.

JoAnn Knak, director of Marion County’s Emergency Medical Service, took one week of vacation recently to attend the annual Oshkosh (Wis.) International Fly-in.
