The drive to build a new movie theater/community center in Marion is now seriously underway. Representatives of the Marion High School class of 1948 are pictured presenting a check for $500 as a donation toward the project of Marion Advancement Campaign.
Also pictured in this issue is a replica of the interior and exterior of the Pleasant View schoolhouse of District 21. Located four miles northeast of Marion on U.S. 50/77, the school was in existence from 1875 to 1960. The replica was created by Harry and Theodora Koslowsky. Theodora grew up one-half mile north of the school.
Todd Stahlecker and Raschelle Jirak were crowned fall homecoming king and queen Friday at Centre High School. Stahlecker is the son of Todd and Sheri Stahlecker of Lincolnville. Jirak is the daughter of Steve and Vicki Jirak of Ramona.
A Santa Fe Trail Fest is planned for Sunday afternoon beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Tampa ball diamond. There will be activities for all ages. The event will conclude with a wiener roast.
More than 20 craft booths were available, in addition to a variety of other vendors and sports events at Saturday’s Octoberfest in Lincolnville.
