Approximately 200 people were in attendance at the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner held on Thanksgiving Day at the Marion Middle School/High School Commons Area.

John and Betty Snelling of rural Florence received word their son, Sgt. William R. Snelling, sustained a broken collarbone and several ribs from a truck wreck in Iraq. The accident occurred during a storm when the truck Snelling was riding in rear-ended another truck in a convoy. Snelling’s truck skidded into another truck and rolled several times before falling from a bridge.

Raymond Bina is pictured as he receives a $50 gift certificate as the first winner in this week’s Christmas in Marion promotion.

Christine Laue was guest of honor Friday evening at a bridal linen shower at the home of Charlotte Waner. Waner and the bride’s sister, Carol Laue, hosted the event at Waner’s home.

Aspen Rose Abbott, born Nov. 24, is St. Luke Hospital’s “Beary Special Baby” for November.

Marion High School seniors Kylie Hardey and Neil Waner have been named December Students of the Month. Kylie is the daughter of Ron and Shelli Hardey. Neil’s parents are David and Tena Waner.
