The Board of Directors of St. Luke Hospital District No. 1 met Nov. 13 in the clinic basement and learned through a letter that Doctors Don Hodson and Kim Hall have tentatively discontinued accepting new obstetrics patients.

First grade students at Marion Elementary School have been busy since Thanksgiving making Christmas cards in the Christmas Card Factory located in the classrooms of instructors Michelle Adkins and Lynette Jost. Jack and Donna Hett and their children Thomas, Colby and Emilee, accompanied by Gerri Hett, attended the annual Thanksgiving gathering at the home of Lew and Lavonda Rothman in Morristown, N.J.

James H. (Tony) Brosemer of Florence has been named Kansas Surveyor of the Year by the Kansas Society of Land Surveyors. Brosemer began his career at the end of World War II and continues today.

Bill and LaDonna Sherbert have purchased MarBowl Lanes from Bob Risenhoover. They have re-named it Sher Bowl Lanes. Their two children, son Danny and daughter Donna Funk of Hillsboro are assisting them as needed.
