The River Band, a popular Australian rock band, is scheduled to perform June 5 during Marion’s annual Chingawassa Days festival.

Georgia Lalouette of Florence has received notice that Bichet School District 34, east of Florence, has been entered on the National Register of Historic Places.

Associated General Contractors of Kansas Inc. has presented an Award of Excellence to Sunflower Builders Inc. of Manhattan for the renovation project of Marion City Library.

Tyler Miesse of Marion will be one of the featured singers when Encore!, a vocal group from Pratt Community College, performs Feb. 9 at Aulne United Methodist Church.

Five Marion County students named to the Emporia State University honor roll for the fall 2003 semester are Carla Carlson, Kelsey Craig, and Maggie Powers, Marion; Megan O’Dell, Florence; and Lindsey Unruh, Goessel.
