Marion City Commission met Monday and approved the purchase of a new bucket truck to replace the 1999 truck with a leaking hydraulic line.

“It’s Greek to Me,” this year’s Marion High School’s spring play, will be presented Friday and Saturday nights. Lead parts are played by Joe Svitak, Trevor Jones, Nikki Moody, Whitney Wear, and Justin Brookens.

Norma Hannaford will be guest of honor during an open house April 10 in the fellowship hall of Marion Presbyterian Church. Norma will be celebrating her 100th birthday.

Lincolnville senior citizens held their first regular meeting March 10 at Friendship House, their new headquarters at 216 Main, Lincolnville.

The first fund-raiser for the community center and movie theater will be held April 3. An elegant formal dinner will begin at 6 p.m. at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. The cost is $50 per plate with $40 of the funds being tax deductible.

Sarah Davidson of Marion has been awarded a $4,500 renewable Putman Scholarship from Kansas State University. Sarah is a senior at Marion High School and is the daughter of Greg and Rose Davidson of Marion.
