Board members of Marion County Hospital District No. 1 were informed at their Oct. 1 meeting of an anonymous $25,000 gift to St. Luke Foundation. The foundation also received an additional $500 donation.

A group met the evening of Sept. 27 at Good News Christian Fellowship Church to plan for a community Thanksgiving dinner.

Sophomore Luke Bowers has been named MHS Athlete of the Week following his performance Thursday in the Mid-Central Activities Association cross-country meet at Marion Reservoir.

Ron Goodwin of Burns is featured in an article, “Corn stove business ‘popping’ as home heating alternative.” Goodwin Enterprises of Burns is a distributor of corn-burning heating stoves.
