Marion County voters approved liquor-by-the-drink in Tuesday’s election. When the votes were tallied, the question passed by a margin of 3,319 in favor to 2,463 against.

Marion City Commission approved a request from Butler Community College for funding to upgrade light fixtures at the Marion building.

Marion Warriors football team ended the season with a 6-3 record and a share of the Mid-Central Activities Association mid-division title.

Winners of the Trick or Treat Main Street are: cutest, Chloe Burkholder, most original, Aaron Molleker, scariest, Samantha Davies, funniest, David Smith.

Tyson Heidebrecht and Kevin Costello, seniors at Marion High School, were guest speakers Monday at Marion Kiwanis Club. They shared their experiences attending American Legion Boys’ State of Kansas this past summer.

The 11th annual Marion County Toy Run will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion. Motorcyclists and classic cars will line up at Eastmoor and travel to Emprise Bank at Hillsboro where participants will unload toys.
