Earthquakes in Kansas? Sounds impossible, but it’s true. Numerous faults are located in Kansas and neighboring states. The possibility of a measurable earthquake may be greater than realized.
Plans for Chingawassa Days 2005 promise to include new and unique events, including a country rock singer as the main attraction. New events planned include a Fear Factor-type competition, motorcycle poker run, and Texas Hold’em poker tournament

Athlete of the Week is Toni Gordon. The junior at Marion High School averaged a team-high 12 points and six rebounds in three games during the Hillsboro Trojan Classic.
Tampa, Florida, radio station WLFA is conducting a contest for a new slogan for the station. The prize? A trip for two to Tampa, Kansas. In addition, a couple from Tampa will be given a trip to Tampa, Florida.
Sgt. Tamra Holub of Marion, who is stationed in Iraq, is pictured with a five-year-old native boy, Sagham. Holub and her company have befriended the boy and his brother and provided them with clothes, toys, blankets, and shoes.
