It’s not official yet, but country music recording artist Chris LeDoux is scheduled to perform June 4 during Chingawassa Days in Marion. LeDoux, a former bareback riding champion, sings about life in the rodeo arena. He has released 36 albums and has sold more than five million copies of his recordings.

An article in this issue shows the Indian Guide Monument, a concrete structure four miles east of Peabody. The monument marks the spot on which Apache Indians built a tall pyramid of stones as a guide in their travels to the Flint Hills.

Births announced this week are those of Colby Matthew Jacob Clark, son of Eric and Christy Clark of Peabody, born Jan. 27 and Brayden Harrison Bina, son of Jason and Linda Bina, born Feb. 16.

Marion County students named to the president’s honor roll for a 4.0 grade point average at Butler Community College were Brandon Findley, Marlene Goentzel, Alan Meisinger, Thane Schwartz, and Tyler Smith, Marion, and Carol Pohlman, Peabody.
