A new jail may be in the county’s future. Dan Hall of B&G Consultants will present information Monday to Marion County Commissioners regarding a new jail structure.
The 2005 Marion County Conservation awards went to the following: Banker awards, Randy and Carol Vogel of Marion and Bernice Nickel of Burns; Young Conservation Farmer award, Jeff and Teri Bina of Pilsen; Grass Buffer award, Gregory and Kim Topham of Peabody; Wildlife award, John Koslowsky of Towanda; and Continuation award, Anna and Thomas Raymond of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Charles Heerey, chairman of Marion Housing Authority, reports construction will begin in 30 days on a concrete storm shelter at Hilltop Manor Apartments.
Marion High School junior Adam Depler, who was the lone MHS state qualifier at the Onaga Regional this past weekend, is the Marion County Record Athlete of the Week.
