Chingawassa Days Festival committee was stunned and saddened Tuesday to hear the news of the death of Chris LeDoux, country music super star, who was to perform June 4 in Marion. The committee now faces the daunting task of finding a replacement of LeDoux’s caliber in time for the festival.

Marion High School students will perform “Of Knights and Kings and Villains and Things” during the annual dinner/theater Friday and Saturday at Marion City Building. Cast members include Brett Billings, Michael Brookens, Bri Vogel, Jordan Timm, and Whitney Wear.

Engagements announced in this issue are those of Andrea Meyer and Caleb Bowers, Angela Moore and David Frigon, Kelli Peterson and Cesar Salazar, Jill Vinduska and Armando Tarin, and Jessica Frederickson and Luke Andalen.

Dale Vogel, MHS basketball player, has been selected to play April 2 in the all-star game at Emporia.

Janice and Rosse Case took their family on a Caribbean cruise Feb. 27-March 6 to celebrate Janice’s 75th birthday and the couple’s 55th wedding anniversary.
