St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary held a benefit tea Sunday afternoon at Marion Presbyterian Church hall. The program, narrated by Janice Case, featured vintage wedding gowns that included one from 1887 and one as current as 2000. Bettie Batt surprised everyone by modeling her own wedding gown from 1946.
Dale and Betty Ehlers of Marion celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary July 3 with their children, grandchildren, and other family members.
After three consecutive victories at the District IV Babe Ruth 13-year-old baseball tournament, the Cottonwood Valley League All-Stars are packing their bags for Louisburg to compete in the state tournament. Team members are Jacob Edwards, Tyler Ediger, Marshall Ragland, Heath Hill, Adam Hett, Chris Couts, Isaac Burnett, Brian Fruechting, Wil Case, Adam Maag, Isaac Hett, Parker Ash, and Jim Lauer.
Fulfilling a required rotation with a rural physician, Eliza Bennett, a fourth-year medical student at the University of Kansas Medical School in Kansas City, is working for 30 days with local doctor Don Hodson at Marion Family Physicians. Bennett graduated in 1997 from Marion High School. She is the daughter of Harry and Marjorie Bennett of Marion.
