More information was requested Monday by Marion City Commission regarding a question being placed on a ballot to enlarge the current three-member commission form of government with a five-member council.

Jamie Renee Bernhardt and Michael Wright Norris were married in a five o’clock ceremony June 11 at Valley United Methodist Church.

Approximately 50 people attended a second annual “National Night Out” block party August 2. The event was held at the home of Rex and Margaret Wilson at 425 Elm.

Engagements announced in this issue included those of Jill Thole and David Grace, Ashton Kerbs and Jesse Smith, Heather Wattson and Michael Crocker.

Marion fire chief Mike Regnier is pictured with many boxes of smoke detectors, which will be distributed first to elderly residents on fixed incomes or low-income people. The remainder will be distributed to those who do not fit in either income category. Delivery will be made by Marion and township fire departments.

Fifty Marion County Lake residents and their guests heard a program on the successful career of John R. Brinkley of Milford at the meeting Saturday of the Chat and Dine Club. The informative program was presented by Don Thomas.
