Marion-Florence USD 408 will host town meetings in Marion and Florence to provide information about the proposed school bond election for the building project of a fine arts center and sports and wellness complex.

St. Luke Hospital & Living Center and Marion County Homecare recognizes an employee and their commitment in quality service each quarter. Outstanding employee this quarter is Joella Hett, materials manager in the purchasing department.

Marion High School will celebrate winter homecoming Friday. King and queen candidates are Josh Kelsey, Jeffrey Richmond, Russell Ploutz, Misty Richmond, Toni Gordon, and Alysha O’Dell.

Articles in this week’s issue announce that two couples will be celebrating their wedding anniversaries with family. They are Merle and Nova Bredemeier, who will have been married 50 years Feb. 12 and Charles and Blanche Cowan, who will observe their 60th anniversary Feb. 10.

John Barr III is this week’s Marion County Record “Athlete of the Week.” A junior, Barr won both his matches Saturday at the Remington Invitational. He recorded a pin in one minute four seconds against Eureka and 51 seconds against Remington.
