Seacat Hardware of Marion has changed from True Value to Do-it-Best. Bin tags have been changed and the store prepared for new products. True Value products will continue to be sold until the stock is depleted.

Friday marked the crowning of Marion High School’s Queen of Courts queen and king. After the student body voted, Misti Richmond and Jeffrey Richmond were crowned winter homecoming king and queen.

Thirteen-year-old Olivia Dicks, daughter of John and Robin Dicks of Marion, is a local entrepreneur who sells items on eBay as a part of her home school project. Olivia is learning the ins and outs of business and financing. Her customers include Bearly Makin’ It Antiques and Western Associates.

Darryl Thiesen, county emergency medical services director, reported Monday to Marion County Commission that Butler County Community College of Marion is interested in sponsoring an EMT training program. If the commission were to approve the program, the first class would be offered within 30 days.

Leonard Ellis of Florence is pictured holding a sign designating Florence Tree Farm as certified under the American Tree Farm System. A workshop will be held at the site for interested landowners and natural resource professionals.
