Hannaford Abstract and Title Company of Marion entertained employees and business associates Oct. 24 at Marion Country Club in recognition of 135 years of continuous service to Marion County. Recognized for years of service were Lucille Olsen, 27 years; Tudy Brunner, 10 years; and Shayla Clark, five years.

Marion Chamber of Commerce sponsored a Halloween costume party Tuesday as part of Trick or Treat Marion. More than 30 children participated in the annual event. Winners were Kayla Hett, pirate; Bryce Shults, pencil; Wesley Dicks, laundry basket; Molly Hess, maid; Allli Molleker, cowgirl; and Jacob Smith, clown.

Two Marion County residents recently graduated from Officers Candidate School at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington. John L. Laurin, Marion, and Steven J. Waner, Peabody, were commissioned Second Lieutenants in the Army National Guard.

Seven members of the Marion/Florence FFA Chapter traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, Oct. 22 to attend the annual National FFA Convention. Those going were Roxann Ross, Sam Ehrlich, Alycia Pontious, Alan Overton, Adam Hett, Ryan Jones, and Levi Carpenter.

Forty-one descendants of Henry and Carrie Houston Collett of the Elk community met Oct. 8 for their annual reunion at the Marion County Park and Lake Recreation Hall.
