Elvis is going to be in Central Park June 1. Actually, there will be 20 Elvis Presley impersonators performing during the annual Chingawassa Days festival.

Just when Marion County residents thought the weather couldn’t be any stranger, it happened again. For the second Friday in a row, snowfalls in parts of Kansas, including Marion County, broke former records.

Tamara Christiansen was honored this past week with her first dollar of profit for her store PLANTations, 420 E. Main, Marion. The floral shop also includes unique gifts and trinkets.

Golden Living Center of Marion has established a grant program for non-profit organizations within the community. The first grant was awarded to Marion County Food Bank. The bank assists approximately eight families per week with food from the bank and vouchers to use at Carlsons’ Grocery of Marion.

1995 Marion High School graduate Katrina Hancock recently took a job as weekend sports anchor at WDIV-TV in Detroit.
