Lutheran Health Systems of Fargo, N.D., and Samaritan Health System of Phoenix, Ariz., joined forces Sept. 1 to create Banner Health System. Banner is one of the largest not-for-profit, non-church affiliated health systems in the nation. It provides management services to St. Luke Hospital and Living Center and Marion County Home Care in Marion.

Members of the Leadership Marion County Class of 1999 are Pamela Lamborn, Tracy Beisel, Susan Cooper, Tambra Owens, Koni Jones, Rod Hamm, Nancy Pihl, and Michelle Abbott-Becker.

Marion High School Warriors football team dominated the Moundridge Wildcats Friday to win the opening game of the season by a score of 43-6. Quarterback Jamey Cooper orchestrated the offense.

A lawsuit filed against Marion County Commission has been dismissed, commissioners reported Tuesday. Marion County Landfill, Inc., agreed to a dismissal without prejudice. This means a new suit could be brought on the same cause of action. The lawsuit dealt with property located near the former county landfill south and west of Marion.
