More than 85 people who are interested in the future of Marion attended a work session of the Marion Planning Commission Monday evening. The purpose of the meeting was to gather public opinion about the future of Marion.
The fourth grade class of Kim Harden and Laura Baldwin took a field trip to Marion Reservoir Thursday evening for a program on owls. Neil Whitaker gave a short presentation on several types of owls and Torey Hett was one of the spotters who located the owls as they flew in to a field.
Tampa State Bank recently presented sturdy, laminated Marion County maps to Marion and Tampa fire departments for use in pinpointing the location of fires.
Happy Hustlers 4-H Club members enjoyed a fall outing Friday afternoon at SherBowl Lanes. The group enjoyed bowling and a pumpkin decorating contest. Marion High School sophomores Julia Zeiner and Kayley Heerey were named Monday to all-league Mid-Central Activities Association teams. Zeiner, a hitter, was named to the second team, while Heerey, a hitter as well, earned honorable mention honors.
