Webster Auto Service will add another section to its business at 106 West Main Street this spring. The addition will be built to the east, on the current parking lot. In addition, the vacant lot across the street has been purchased and it will become the new parking lot for the business.

Rosemary Neuwirth of rural Marion is one of 300 people from the Wichita Diocese traveling in a special bus caravan to see Pope John Paul II in St. Louis, Mo. The Pope will celebrate a Mass in Trans World Dome there on his brief visit to the United States.

A new restaurant will open in Marion this spring. McGillicudy’s, a family-style restaurant, is scheduled to open April 1. The restaurant is owned by Brenda and David McGinness. Their other restaurant, The Big Scoop, will remain open, they said.

A variety show planned for Feb. 27 will help raise funds to air condition Marion Municipal Auditorium. A reception after the show will be in honor of the building’s 60th anniversary.

Marion Chamber of Commerce saluted Marion High School students for academic achievement and leadership initiative at Monday night’s annual chamber dinner. Those recognized were Lisa Buchholz, Robert Conyers, Sarah Crofoot, Carrie Darrow, Camille Wessel, Shannon Hoffer, James Meier, Josh Powers, Justin Hett, Joey Smallwood, Bailey Skiles, Maria Voelker, Andrea Wegerer, and Irene Robles.
