Normally at this time of year, farmers are in the middle of wheat harvest. In Marion County, the wheat is ready but rains continue to delay harvest. Fields are muddy and the wheat is wet.

New windows are being installed in the second floor of the Masonic Temple in Marion. Centre Lodge No. 147 is replacing the 26 turn-of-the-century windows because the window frames are rotting and the window glazing has fallen away.

Kym Thompson and Peggy Blackman visited Berlin June 1 to 17, guests of the Committee for Promotion of Youth Exchange projects, which has sponsored visits of German students to Marion for the past 15 years.

Janie Rziha of Tampa left Thursday for a one-week educational tour sponsored by the Dickinson, Saline, and Ottawa Rural Electric Association. Janie won the trip in an essay contest,

Deanna Klenda attended the 30th annual meeting of the National League of Families of American Prisoners and Missing in Southeast Asia held from Wednesday until Sunday in Washington, D.C.

Hannaford Abstract and Title Company of Marion has doubled the size of its building to better accommodate customers, use updated technology, and ease the space crunch on employees. The addition isn’t visible from Main Street. It extends directly back from the rear of the building
