The bandstand has been moved to the plot of ground in the park just west of the Baptist church. There has been considerable discussion as to the proper place for the location of the bandstand but this location seems to meet with more general approval than any other so far suggested. The land there belongs to the city, being part of the Park property and there is plenty of room to seat a large number of people. And the location will not interfere with the proposed driveway past the spring—there is plenty of room on the east of the stand for that. The city commissioners have taken the position that no stands of any kind or tents will be allowed in the main part of the park north of the creek, as there is plenty of room on the south side and on the plot of ground near the church for those things This decision seems to the Record to be a very wise one and we believe will meet the approval of the large majority of the people of the town.

(Compiler’s note, for those who might not know—Luta creek originally flowed through the park between the north part and the part with the old swings, tee-totters, merry-go-rounds, etc. That area was filled-in in the 1940s and now is where the bands perform during Chingawassa Days.)

The city commissioners have decided to go back to the first plan proposed for carrying the sewer pipe through the arch instead of hanging it to the side of the bridge as the council had decided to do. The top of the pipe will just touch the top of the arch—there being no space between the pipe and the bridge.

Mr. and Mrs. John Williamson are chaperoning a party of girls on a camping trip out north of town. Members of the party are Misses Eulalia Kuhn, Beth Fraser, Lenore Miesse, Irma Wolf, Clare Howe and Nettie Taylor.

The Elgin Hotel dining room has ben reopened and they are now ready to entertain their guests in their usual accommodating manner.
