Good Roads Social

Don’t forget the Good Roads Social at the home of Ben Sanders southwest of town tomorrow, Friday evening. Fifteen or twenty autos have been pressed into service for the occasion. Fifty cents for the round trip, by auto. The band will furnish music and refreshments will be served on the lawn. Join the crowd—have a good time and help a good cause.

County Medical Association

The County Medical Association met yesterday afternoon at Drs. Marner & Coffman’s office. The following new members were taken in: Dr. Anna Appleby, Marion; Dr. C.S. Appleby, Peabody; Dr. S.P. Loomis, Lost Springs; Dr. L.A, Clarey, Elbing; Dr. B.T. Prather, Peabody; and Dr. G.J. Goodsheller, Marion.

The city schools opened on Monday with a fine attendance. There are over a hundred in the high school. The new teachers have made an excellent impression so far and every prospect is for a most successful year.

A.E. Case informs us that David Schlotthauer, Charley Locklin, Ed Rush, and W.Z. Moore have brought in some fine sample ears of new corn for the Marion County exhibit which will be put on display at the Topeka and Hutchinson fairs.

Aulne boasts of a new barber, a new doctor, and a new telephone central.

Joe Wilkinson, proprietor of the big feed barn was quite severely injured last Monday by the kick of a horse and has been laid up this week. Monday was a busy day at the barn on account of the Farmer’s picnic so Roy Sumner and Fred Frobenius helped take care of the teams that day.
