The Marion Pharmacy has just put in the finest soda fountain that has ever been put up in the town. It is in a class with the best to be found in towns the size of Wichita and Topeka—it’s a beauty, and has all the latest wrinkles. And, on Saturday of this week, they are going to have an Opening, or Dedication, or Laying of the Corner Stone, or Big Blowout, or whatever you may please to call it, and are going to donate one-third of the proceeds on that day to the library. Take your girl and see how nice you look in the big mirror eating a chocolate ice cream soda.

A very severe hail storm visited the Elk section of the country Sunday evening. Much damage was done to roofs, windows, and fruit. Many of the hail stones were from five to seven inches in circumference and some a few miles east of Elk were reported to be 13½ inches in circumference.

Will Kuhn has added a fine bath room to his barbershop and also another chair and is now in fine shape to give his patrons prompt and satisfactory service. Mr. Clint Brewington of Kansas City is the artist in charge of the new chair. He has already brought his family here and is much pleased with his new position and the city and we hope he will remain here permanently.

Marion and Marion county wants to make the best possible showing so don’t let the census taker overlook you. The work is nearly completed and if you have not been counted yet don’t fail to call the attention of your local census taker to the fact. Remember, we want to make as good a showing as possible.
