Many citizens have long urged the organization of an Old Settlers’ Association and the holding once a year of an Old Settlers’ Picnic. A meeting for the purpose of arranging for the holding of an Old Settlers’ Picnic during the coming summer will be held at the District Court Room at 2 p.m. Saturday.

The skating tent was destroyed by fire last Thursday evening. The origin of the fire is not known. The tent belonged to a woman who lives in Kansas City. Ralph Hodge and George Rankin had leased it a short time and the patronage was good.

Jacob Good and young son were here several days the past week visiting with his parents, Mr and Mrs. Isaac Good and other relatives.

The City Commissioners have passed an ordinance making it a misdemeanor for any railroad train to be held across any street in the city for a period of longer than 10 minutes.

Marion Produce Co. bought and shipped by express to Chicago in one day, Saturday, 284 cases of eggs amounting to $2,000.

Harold Hauser, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hauser, was quite severely bruised last Sunday by falling off his pony. He was hurt on the head and shoulder mainly. While the injuries were painful, they were not serious and he is getting along all right.
