The Marion Post office goes to Second Class on July 1—that is the official notice just received from the Department. For some time Postmaster McIntosh has been sure that this official announcement would come.

Wallis Hoch graduated on Thursday of last week from Baker University. Governor and Mrs. Hoch were there to attend the exercises.

The cement walk connecting the park walk with the Chautauqua grounds was finished this week. This adds greatly to the looks of the park and will be a big convenience if the Chautauqua time happens to be a rainy season as it has some years.

F.J. Griffiths and Son have certainly been making things more lively since taking charge of the grocery store—formerly the Remmers grocery. They have gone through the stock, re-arranged it throughout, put it in better shape and put in about a thousand dollars worth of stuff in the past week.

Fred Davis has leased the building next to the National Bank now run as a Candy Kitchen by Dick Tillman and will start a bakery there. Many Marion friends of Mr. and Mrs. Davis will be exceedingly glad to have them back in Marion.
