A number of Marion fellows drew claims in the Montana land drawing. Henry Hett, the young man, got a fine number — 277 — and should get a good piece of land. The other fellows and their numbers, as far as we have heard, are as follows: Phil Brecher, something over 900; W.W. Jenkins, 4456; Arthur Tarbet, something over 9000.

On Tuesday evening of this week, a very enjoyable party was given by Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Buckley at their home on Water St. A deep regret is felt by the neighbors and friends of Mr and Mrs. Buckley that they are leaving this part of the city, but all join in wishing “showers of blessings” wherever they may chance to locate.

Harry Rogers arrived on Monday and will be here for several weeks. He came specially to have performed an operation for appendicitis, which has been troubling him a great deal for several months. After he recovers from that he will join his dramatic company on an eastern tour.

About sixty friends of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Kelsey gathered at their country home the other evening and gave them a “surprise,” incident to their leaving the neighborhood where they have lived for thirty years. Mr. and Mrs. Kelsey are moving to Marion.
