The New Elgin Hotel ball-room was formally opened last Friday evening. The Marion Dancing Club and other especially invited guests were entertained by Mrs. Immer and her brother, C.H. Wheelock, who have recently taken over the management of the hotel. The Greasart girls furnished music for the dance.

The new management has recently improved and remodeled the interior of the hotel. Hard maple floor has been laid in the dining room, new tables have been built in at the sidewall and a balcony built in the northwest corner of the dining room.

The New Elgin is an unusually fine hotel for a town of this size, and in making these excellent improvements, the new management shows a spirit of progress.

Many Marion friends of both bride and groom are interested in the announcement, carried by Peabody papers last week, of the marriage of Percy Potter, son of Senator T.M. Potter, to Miss Helen Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.N. Baker.

Attention is called to the warning issued by the peace officers concerning the sale or gift of cigarettes and tobacco or the use of the same in public places by minors.

Good winter apples, but not extra large for 75 cents per bu. Lower grade, 40 cents per bu. At the Lost Springs Nursery, Lost Springs.
