There will be a public meeting on Friday evening of next week, January 9, for the purpose of promoting a movement for a Federal Building for Marion. Congressman Dudley Doolittle is to be here to address the people upon the subject. Marion is entitled to the building. Many towns less deserving have secured federal buildings and there is no reason why one should not be built here.

Dr. R.C. Smith has purchased the Musick residence on Elm street and plans to tear down the old stone house some of these days and build a modern residence there. There is no better location for a residence in Marion.

Great sleighing the past week. The first good sleighing since the paving was put down, and Main street has swarmed with boys with sleds. And, how the kids, young and old, have enjoyed it.

The children and their families of Mr. and Mrs. John Ehrlich to the number of sixteen gathered at their home at the Mill on Christmas day to celebrate Mr. John Ehrlich’s 60th birthday anniversary.

Myers and Winkley, the agents for the Ford car, have leased the garage adjoining the Record office, and taken charge. It is a splendid building for the purpose and a fine location. They received on Monday seven new cars, 1914 models. There are only slight changes from the 1913 model.
