The city election, to vote on the proposed sale of the light plant, has been postponed until Nov. 9. This change is due to a desire expressed by scores to have more time to get all the facts. People were not ready to vote.

The first freeze of the year Monday night —and it was quite a little freeze.

The Pilsen people were shocked last Friday morning by the accidental death of one of the workmen on the new church. The man was George Boltjes of Wichita. He was on the roof of the church passing up rolls of felt paper when the scaffolding gave way and he slid down the roof and dropped 30 feet to the ground.

The Republican county ticket offers the following candidates: J.D. Schmidt, county treasurer; John B. Greer, probate judge; John H. Alexander, county clerk; A.S. Quisenberry, register of deeds; Capt. Ed Baxter, clerk of the district court; Roscoe King, county attorney, Jas. A. Ray, county superintendent; M.L. Mansfield, sheriff; Dr. J.F. Coffman, coroner.

The women of the Wren neighborhood are greatly pleased with the Movable School which is being conducted there this week. The instructor from the Agricultural College is conducting lessons in domestic science and art. This is the first time in Kansas that a school of this kind has ever been conducted in the country.
