Marion High School finished the greatest athletic season in its history when it played and won the last football game on this year’s schedule at Eureka last Thursday afternoon, making the team an undefeated one.

Two freight trains on the Rock Island met in a head-on collision last Thursday morning at the north end of the railroad yards at Aulne. The heavy fog was blamed for the accident. The trainmen jumped in time to avoid being injured.

Will the person who found a nickel-plaited auto crank cap please leave it at the Santa Fe Trail Garage. It was lost some place between Marion and Elk.

Mrs. Lemke (formerly Mrs. May) has moved back to Marion and is ready to do laundry work, house cleaning, etc.

The county clerk’s office has finished computing the cost of the recent election. 5510 votes were cast in the county and the expenses of the election were $2592.75 making each vote cost forty-seven cents.

Mr. and Mrs. Henderson Martin and daughter Sybil are expected to arrive here the last of the week. Marion friends will be mighty glad to see them.

Steve Winchester is fitting up a suite of three rooms over the City Bakery and restaurant for office rooms for Drs. Smith and Goodsheller. New floors, new paper, paint etc.

Little Ford Watson who has been quite sick with typhoid fever is now getting along nicely.
