A.E. Case, the man who knows more local history than any other man, has written an article concerning the Quantrell Raid, for the State Historical Society. We believe it will be of general interest to our readers.

Dr. R.C. Smith and family moved to their new home last week. They are occupying only the rooms on the second floor and the kitchen, the remainder of the first floor being not yet finished. This home—which is on Elm street and occupies the site of the old stone house known as the Musick property—is one of the finest homes in town.

All those who travel the roads these days are enthusiastic about the results of dragging the snow from the roads. It is something of a new thing around here—dragging the snow off—and it is certainly a great thing. An ordinary road drag is used and if the work is done right after the snow has fallen it is a comparatively easy thing to get practically all the snow off. Where this has been done—and it has been done north, east and south from town in a number of places—the road is soon in as fine condition as at any time of the year. Let the good work go on.

A crowd of Marion young people enjoyed a sleigh ride, the picture show and a supper together on Monday evening. Their merry voices and ringing laughter could be heard far and wide over the wide expanses of white and drifted snow.
