The Elgin Hotel has changed management this week. The new proprietress is Mrs. D.E. Munro. Mrs. Munro comes to us from Kansas City. She has had eighteen years experience in the hotel business, having been nine years in Wilson, Kansas, and comes recommended as a competent, pleasant hotel lady.

Alexander Hanchu, G.J. Bernhardt, Christ Deines, and C. Cornelsen have filed applications for citizenship the past week.

Mr. C.A. Stebbins from near Antelope brought in a stock beet which measured 20 inches from tip to tail and 18 inches around the equator. The vegetable weighed 10 pounds 7 ounces.

Harry Rogers has installed a Bell telephone at the Auditorium, and remodeled the ticket office.

Morris Williams, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Williams, was quite severely hurt last Saturday. While playing with a little wagon the front wheels came off and in falling his hip was torn by a bolt. Eight stitches were taken. He is better and able to be around some now.

Mr. and Mrs. Nodie Baker and little son attended the circus in Wichita last Thursday.

Three new firms are now making use of the general delivery system in our town. They are The Marion Pharmacy, Riddle’s Pharmacy and Fred D. Hawthorne’s shoe store.
