Close to two hundred men from various places in the county sat down to a banquet in the Methodist Church at Peabody yesterday evening—it was the closing gathering of the first annual convention of the County Y.M.C.A.

The weather last Friday evening was about as disagreeable as could be imagined and only a small crowd was in attendance at the Community Singing affair. But, those who were there greatly enjoyed the event and the vote to continue it was unanimous. Mrs. Poundstone led the singing.

The Stebbins home at Quarry was the scene of a delightful gathering on Thursday evening of last week, Feb. 10. The day was the birthday anniversary of Mary Thies and also of C.A. Stebbins. The pupils of the Quarry school, with their teacher, Miss Adelia Ireland, gathered in honor of the two. There was a big birthday cake which was cut amid much hilarity. It was a delightful occasion.

The Marion girls defeated the Lost Springs girls with a score of 19 to 15. The Marion line-up was Edna Frazer and Lucille Corby, forwards; Mildred Loveless and Grace Olsen, guards; Ruth Brickell and Nina Revo, centers; Amy Brose, substitute.

The Court House will be closed all day February 22nd, it being a legal holiday, Washington’s Birthday.
