Several months ago a swarm of bees gathered on the front porch of J.C. Watson’s residence and finding a hole at the top of one of the big pillars proceeded to take possession of the pillar. A few days ago the pillar was opened and several gallons of fine honey taken out.

Jack Adkins has installed a fine new steam pressing machine in his cleaning and pressing establishment.

J.L. Wilkin, who was here from Aulne last Friday, says that the Aulne school bonds have been registered and that the work on the building will proceed as fast as possible. The building will is to be built about two blocks east of the railroad track and on the south side of the road. It will be of brick and will have a basement under the whole building.

Al Christ, the “boss horse-shoer,” will be back at his old place in the J.H. Hoch shop next Monday morning—his friends here will be glad to know. He will have charge of the horseshoeing, managing that end of the business entirely and on his own responsibility.

Al Richardson attended the big good roads meeting at Wichita last Thursday, going especially in the interest of the proposed Southwest Trail that is to run through Marion.

Mr. and Mrs. F.C. Utting were down from Antelope Wednesday. Mrs. Utting is getting along nicely with the broken arm she recently suffered while cranking the car.
